Start of the Project: Laying the Foundation for Excellence

This section details KNR’s scope of work for the Road Upgrade project undertaken for Gazprom between 2021 and 2022. Our focus was on renovating the existing access road leading from the Kalar-Kifri asphalt road to the Sarqala-1 well site (CPF), improving its functionality and safety for vehicle traffic.

The project’s success begins with a solid foundation.

  • Detailed Road Assessment: KNR engineers conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the existing access road. This assessment included analyzing road surface condition, drainage functionality, geometric characteristics (width, curves), and load-bearing capacity.
  • Upgrade Design & Planning: Based on the assessment, KNR developed a detailed design for the road upgrade project. This design considered factors like necessary repairs, potential route improvements, material selection for resurfacing, and ensuring compliance with relevant traffic safety regulations.
  • Material Procurement & Permitting: KNR procured high-quality construction materials required for the road upgrade, such as asphalt, gravel, and any necessary drainage materials. Additionally, KNR obtained all necessary permits and approvals from local authorities before commencing construction activities.

During the Project: Building With Quality and Safety at the Forefront

With a comprehensive plan and secured materials, KNR’s skilled construction team meticulously executed the road upgrade works.

The project’s success begins with a solid foundation.

  • Road Surface Rehabilitation: KNR performed necessary repairs to address existing road surface issues such as cracks, potholes, or uneven sections. Depending on the severity of damage, this may have involved patching, milling, or complete resurfacing with high-quality asphalt.
  • Drainage Improvements (if applicable): If the assessment identified drainage deficiencies, KNR implemented improvements to ensure proper water flow away from the road surface. This may have involved cleaning existing drainage ditches, installing new culverts, or constructing additional drainage channels.
  • Safety Enhancements: KNR prioritized safety by incorporating enhancements like improved signage, installation of guardrails in high-risk areas (if applicable), and ensuring proper road markings for better visibility and traffic flow.

Finalizing the Project: A Smooth Handover and Ongoing Support

The final stage focused on ensuring a smooth handover of the upgraded road to Gazprom and offering any necessary support.

The project’s success begins with a solid foundation.

  • Project Handover & Documentation: Upon completion, KNR provided Gazprom with comprehensive handover documentation. This may have included final road inspection reports, as-built drawings reflecting any field modifications, and quality control test results for construction materials.
  • Road Safety Training (optional): Depending on the project scope, KNR may have offered optional training sessions for Gazprom personnel regarding safe driving practices on the upgraded road, especially in areas with implemented safety features.
  • Ongoing Support & Collaboration: KNR remained available to address any questions or concerns Gazprom may have regarding the upgraded road and offer support for any unforeseen maintenance needs in the future.
