Start of the Project: Laying the Foundation for Excellence
This section details KNR’s comprehensive scope of work for the Site Preparation Works undertaken for Pearl Petroleum’s Crescent – Dana Gas project, completed between 2021 and 2023. Our focus was on transforming the designated area into a fully functional platform for safe and efficient drilling operations and camp establishment.
The project’s success begins with a solid foundation.
- Detailed Site Assessment & Planning: KNR engineers conducted a thorough assessment of the designated project area. This included evaluating topography, soil conditions, environmental considerations, and potential logistical challenges. Based on this assessment, a detailed plan outlining the scope of work, excavation strategies, waste management protocols, and access road construction was developed.
- Permitting & Regulatory Approvals: KNR obtained all necessary permits and approvals from local authorities before commencing any site preparation activities. This may have included environmental impact assessments, land use permits, and drilling permits.
- Mobilization of Workforce & Equipment: KNR mobilized a skilled workforce with experience in various site preparation tasks. Additionally, we procured the necessary equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, graders, haul trucks, and drilling rigs, to ensure timely project execution.

During the Project: Building With Quality and Safety at the Forefront
With a comprehensive plan in place and resources secured, KNR’s team transformed the project site into a fully functional platform for the drilling operations and camp establishment.
The project’s success begins with a solid foundation.
- Rig Site, Camp & Access Road Construction: KNR undertook the construction of the designated rig site, main camp, and OPF camp. This may have involved earthworks, leveling, foundation preparation, and construction of access roads to ensure smooth movement of personnel and equipment.
- Well Pad & Cellar Construction: KNR constructed well pads – the leveled platforms for drilling rigs – and cellars – the underground excavations for wellheads and equipment. This involved precise excavation, soil stabilization, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols for personnel working in confined spaces.
- Utility & Infrastructure Installation: KNR’s skilled teams installed electrical and sanitary systems for the rig site, main camp, and OPF camp. This may have involved electrical cable trenching, electrical panel installation, plumbing works, and the construction of sewage treatment facilities (if applicable).

Finalizing the Project: A Smooth Handover and Ongoing Support
The final stage focused on ensuring a smooth handover of the prepared site to Pearl Petroleum and offering ongoing support, if needed.
The project’s success begins with a solid foundation.
- Site Handover & Documentation: Upon completion, KNR provided Pearl Petroleum with comprehensive handover documentation. This may have included final site surveys, as-built drawings, waste management records, and detailed reports on the construction of well pads, cellars, and access roads.
- Environmental Restoration (if applicable): Depending on the project’s environmental impact, KNR may have implemented restoration measures to minimize the project’s footprint. This could involve revegetation efforts or soil remediation.
- Ongoing Support & Collaboration: Beyond project handover, KNR remained available to offer Pearl Petroleum ongoing support. This may have included addressing any questions or concerns regarding the prepared site and providing assistance during the subsequent drilling and construction phases.
